Job title: HVAC Maintenance Technician 

Location: Auckland, New Zealand

Objective:

Perform regular inspections and maintenance checks on heat pump systems (mainly residential) according to manufacturer guidelines and company protocols.

About this role:
We are looking for an experienced HVAC Technician with a good attitude that takes pride in what they do to join our installation team.  You will have at least two years residential or commercial experience required (E or EST certification would be a bonus), all training will be provided. It would also involve general touch up electrical work from time to time. There is huge room for growth in this role as we are only a small company with the renewables division only just starting up a couple of years ago under the guidance of our new Board Directors.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions or performance issues with heat pump systems. Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components.
  • Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner, addressing their concerns and providing clear explanations of maintenance procedures and recommended repairs.
  • Educate clients on best practices for operating and maintaining their heat pump systems to maximize efficiency and minimize energy costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, including work performed, parts used, and recommendations for future maintenance.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to heat pump maintenance and HVAC technology.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations regarding refrigerant handling and disposal.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently without supervision.

  • Full drivers licence.
  • Be able to work unsupervised, run your own jobs and help other people.
  • Honest and trustworthy.
  • Take pride in your work and go the extra mile to make sure the job is top notch.
  • Minimum two years residential or commercial HVAC maintenance or installation experience.
  • Good understanding of electrical and mechanical concepts, willingness to learn and ability to work in a young and dynamic culture experiencing rapid growth.


What the job would involve:

  • Identify and address any issues or potential problems before they escalate, ensuring the reliability and longevity of the systems.
  • Replacing fittings.
  • Electrical testing.
  • Completing CoC’s (if you are a licensed electrician).
